[personal profile] holmesticemods posting in [community profile] holmestice
Thank you so much for another wonderful round of Holmestice! The mods want to say THANK YOU to all the creators who joined us for this round. You put in a lot of hard work and made some really great fanworks.

Reveals and the Master List go up on June 28th. Until then, please enjoy and comment on all the lovely fanworks. Creators, please do NOT respond to Dreamwidth comments or post your fanwork elsewhere on the Internet until reveals go up in the community. (You may of course reply to comments on AO3, which preserves your anonymity.)

But we're not done yet -- treats are coming right up! We'll continue to accept treats right through until reveals, so if there's a prompt for which you want to whip something up, please do! Just send it to holmesticemods@gmail.com using the regular submission guidelines.

If you'd like to guess at who created what in this round, a list of all the contributors -- including treat-makers -- is below the cut. Go ahead and take a guess! It's all in good fun.

ETA: Eeep! The earlier version of the list of creators had some errors, but it should be right now! (We hope!)

I gotta say, I laughed when you tried using me as a beard again for your own story! (For old times' sake, was it?) Although I'm inclined to say you owe me cookies for that -- you know I'm not allowed to say word one about it, and the required restraint was very painful. :-P

Now, now, my formal beard for that story (if we must use that term) was obviously [personal profile] marta_bee, per the actual guess. All else is commentary, albeit entertaining commentary, and you had to know what you were getting into when you voluntarily put on a moderator hat.

Also, if you read far enough down in that original thread, the cookies from that round were a reward for accurate deduction, not a recompense for some perceived slight. If I were handing out cookies this round (a prospect not raised at all during the guessing phase), I would arguably need to send some to several of the players upstream -- at least one of whom is on another continent entirely, which would involve non-trivial sums for shipment. Logistics therefore make the issuance of genuine cookies, as opposed to virtual ones, an impractical reward in the present case.

The suggestion that cookies should be assessed as a penalty for inaccurate deduction is equally impractical; if that were applied equally to the full pool of guessers, a great many of us would be doing more baking than writing for the next several weeks, and we would become a cookie exchange rather than a story exchange. (Also, you would get comparatively few cookies, since nearly all the actual guesses made about your contributions to this round were correct.)

Having said all that, mind you, the compliments on that one batch of cookies are nonetheless graciously accepted....

I didn't say I wanted all the cookies. I said I wanted some cookies. As noted above, you make tasty cookies. :-P
