Below you will find our schedule for this round of Holmestice and some housekeeping items.

First, housekeeping. As many of you are well aware, there has been a situation with LJ and we are migrating away from that platform. With community support we have moved to Dreamwidth for a wide variety of reasons. We are not done migrating the community yet and we know many of you are eager to get all your work off LJ sooner rather than later.

While we plan to eventually scrub content from all LJ entries and replace content with URLs pointing to the work on Dreamwidth (just in case people have old bookmarks, etc.) you can request that we do your work sooner rather than later. Please fill out this form and we'll create a queue and get to work on it.

Welcome to the Winter 2017 round of Holmestice!

It's happening this year because after 14 successful rounds you didn't think we were actually going to stop, did you?

Here is our schedule:
Sign-ups OPEN - September 26th
Sign-ups CLOSE - October 10th
Assignments GO OUT - October 17th
Assignments DUE - November 21st
Posting BEGINS - Dec 1st
Posting ENDS - Dec 14th
REVEALS - Dec 21st

As usual, any help in advertising the community would be AWESOME! Anyone can volunteer to help with graphics for promoting, of course (banners/headers for social media or cross-community posts). And please feel free to comment here on this post with your thoughts, hopes, dreams, and wishes.

Also, re: the form...I have so many fics up at the challenge under the username scandalbaby but I'm not planning on moving them to Dreamwidth, just AO3 (they should all be up there). I can't use the form to just say "I have a lot of fics" but I would like them all off LJ and linked to the AO3 posts. Is that possible?

Hi, the fics already are on Dreamwidth, actually -- they came over when we imported/backed-up the community. We're going through the LJ version of the community, and replacing the contents of the posts there with links to the corresponding post here. (So there will no longer be fanworks on the LJ side, just links to the fanworks' current locations here.) We can add links to the Dreamwidth posts at the top of the content stating that the fic can also be found on AO3 if you'd like?

If a fic was posted for Holmestice, though, we'd still like to preserve it as part of Holmestice. That is, we'd like to keep a copy here on Holmestice's Dreamwidth, even if it's cross-posted to AO3, too.

Will get to my signup after I finish a story for a more current exchange deadline, but wanted to mention that I have just pimped promoted Holmestice over on the "Letters of Mary" discussion group at Yahoo (I joined a little while back). So if we get an abrupt infusion of Russell partisans, that will be why....

Hello!

To sign up, use the template in this post, to leave a comment on that self-same post. (If you'd like an example of a correct sign-up, see Emily Apismelifera's sign-up.) Make sure you include ALL the fields from the template; we need them all for matching.

And no, you don't need an LJ or DW logon! (Although many things are easier with one, such as the ability to edit your sign-up, or to have comments/responses emailed to you.) To sign up without an LJ/DW logon, use the "anonymous" option to leave your comment. Just please please PLEASE make sure you include all your contact information, so that we can send you your assignment and contact you with any questions.

We've been trying to keep from creating a bunch of dead links during all this, so we haven't been deleting entries outright, but removing the non-header content and creating a redirect to the post on DW.
