holmesticemodsWhen, in the course of Holmestice Events, it becomes necessary to secure a Pinch-Hitter, and said-Pinch-Hitter steps up to the plate and delivers a Home-Run for Holmestice-- occasionally, things happen. Sometimes the originally-assigned Creator is able to produce a gift before the posting period has ended. Who is the true Creator? Is it the person who finished first? The person who was assigned first? Well, here at Holmestice, we say BOTH! Which is why we occasionally have two gifts for one Recipient.
And what if the Pinch-Hitter is suddenly running into timing issues (because we all know the Real World can suck)? Then we might just pinch-hit a Pinch-Hitter!
And what if a Mod who shall remain unnamed (coughCOATcough) mismatches a prompt at the very beginning, causing a Creator to not have a Recipient for whom to create? Then we may give them a replacement who is already assigned to someone else!
But, why are you telling us this right now?
As we Sherlock Holmes fans are quite good at deduction, you probably already know this means we are about to receive the first of a few duplicate gifts. Possibly even more than duplicate, given the unique circumstances of each round.
