Treat preference: Yes please! Treats are one of the things I like best about this exchange.
Happy winter solstice to our southern hemisphere participants, and a happy summer solstice to everybody else!
I will create:
A fanwork of the following type(s): fic
In one or more of the following parts of fandom:
For one or more of the following characters or relationships:
Holmes & Watson, Holmes/Watson, Holmes & Mycroft, Holmes & Mrs. Hudson, Holmes & Mary Watson, Holmes/Moriarty, Holmes & Moriarty, gen, any femslash.
I am also open to writing some wild and wacky pairings (think Holmes/Stapleton [HOUN], for instance), although I rarely write much explicit sex; you're more likely to get a whole lot of angsty character development and a fade to black.
I like working with one or more of the following categories:
Angst, Post-Reichenbach, Retirement (especially beekeeper Holmes), Alternate Universe, Hurt/Comfort, Established Relationship, Crossover, Friendship, Friendship, Drug Use, Drug Addiction, Worldbuilding, References to Depression, Period Typical Attitudes, Canon Disabled Character, Magical Realism, Experimental.
With any of the following ratings: 1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; 3) explicit sexual content; 4) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes; 5) moderate to explicit graphic violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes
I am willing to create for the following squicks and/or kinks: dubcon, abuse, suicide, drug/alcohol abuse, major character death.
I want to receive:
A fanwork of the following type(s): art, fic, podfic
In one or more of the following parts of fandom::
I like stuff in the following categories:
Angst; Post-Reichenbach; Alternate Universe; Romance; Hurt/Comfort; Established Relationship; Crossover; Friendship; Humor; First Time; Friendship; Drug Addiction; Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence; Character Study, Crack, Mental Health Issues, Slice of life, Slow Build, Worldbuilding, Retirement, Magical Realism.
I wouldn’t mind any of the following squicks and/or kinks: dubcon; bdsm; torture; domestic abuse; alcohol/drug abuse; self-harm; suicide; character death; child abuse.
Please include further details about what you’d like to receive:
Canon: I love slightly off-kilter rewrites of canon stories, especially those that make Watson out to be an unreliable narrator for some reason. Other things I love: Holmes' mental illness/instability, with or without period-typical attitudes, Victorian detail (especially scientific or medical), retirement (or 'retirement') stories, especially if there's beekeeping involved. As far as the Holmes/Watson goes, I'm just as happy with gen/friendship as I am with unabashedly gay Holmes or QPR.
Russell books: This series is not kind to Watson. I like Russell stories where Watson is competent and intelligent. Is Russell an unreliable narrator for some reason? I also love to see Holmes/Watson in this ‘verse, especially without any Russell-bashing. These books bring Holmes' drug use into a more modern light, so I love to see mentions if it in fics from this 'verse, even if its just Holmes' ongoing sobriety.
A Study in Emerald: I love world-building, canonically disabled Watson, whatever weird intoxicants people in this 'verse use, Holmes/Moriarty, Holmes/Watson, or both, retirement.
Granada: Jeremy Brett brings a particular sort of contained energy to Holmes that I love. Also love: Holmes and Watson being totally queer but also really Victorian about it--i don't necessarily want primness, just historical accuracy.
2002 BBC HOUN and The Case of the Silk Stocking: these adaptations, which share a Watson, are so much fun; the drug use and violence make both seem more early 20th century than Victorian. Holmes and Watson in the HOUN movie have very QPR vibes, to me, while the Holmes of Silk Stocking is just so unabashedly gay.
Ritchie verse: I love this messy, neurodivergent Holmes. I'd love to see more of Mycroft, and also Mary being awesome.
The above are just suggestions. Is there a fix-it fic you've been dying to get a chance to write or an obscure historical enthusiasm you want to tell everybody about? Throw it in! Weird crack-y rarepair or bizarre AU? Bring it on.
Special requests: I'm not much for PWP, but other than that I'm game for pretty much anything.
