Watson stood at the sideboard, studying the bottles the Colonel had lined up there.
Neither of us spoke until Hayter returned.
“Ah, Watson, pour us all three a drink, would you?” Hayter said when he saw Watson standing there. “Perhaps all this fracas is commonplace for the two of you, but I could do with something to steady my nerves after all that excitement.”
