In general:
I strongly read Holmes as autistic, so anything incorporating that would be delightful.
I also enjoy reading Holmes as trans, but without any strong element of transphobia. Ultimately, I want him to be happy.
Canon, Granada and Coules:
I love anything retirement era - Holmes and Watson pottering around doing cosy things, still very much in love with each other. Specifically for Coules verse retirement era, I enjoy the boys settling down together for the rest of their lives, having finally worked out exactly what they want their relationship to be (that can either be romantic or queerplatonic, up to you and the vibes). I also like the idea of Holmes getting interested in some new invention and finding out all about it. And Watson being into crafty pursuits like knitting.
For Granada, it would be interesting to explore the fall out from the Devil's Foot episode. I'm thinking here about Holmes coming off the cocaine, and their hallucinations.
For Coules verse, anything referencing the secret love confession would be lovely.
Rathbone:
God, I love the dynamic between these two and how fond they are of each other! I'd love to see more of Watson caring for Holmes after a case, as in Dressed to Kill. Equally, I love Holmes's protectiveness of Watson, and the final scene in House of Fear just absolutely melted me. The two of them caring for each other in their own ways and being very happy together would be gorgeous.
Art in the Blood series:
So far, I've read Art in the Blood, and Unquiet Spirits. In Unquiet Spirits, I was particularly taken with the idea that Holmes's friendship with Charlotte is a queerplatonic relationship, similar to that with he later has with Watson. It just seems, from both Charlotte's letters to her grandmother and Holmes's confrontation with Isla, that there was a similar level of closeness there. I would love to see more exploration of that relationship and how it impacts Holmes later in his life. It would also be lovely to have an AU in which Charlotte doesn't die and their relationship continues, and how that then impacts on Holmes's relationship with Watson, perhaps even ending in a qpr polycule, because Holmes has two hands after all!
