Title: The Morning After the Night Before
Recipient: Mundungus42
Author:
bendingthewillow
Verse: Canon - Arthur Conan Doyle
Characters/Pairings: Holmes/Watson, past Watson/Mary Morstan
Rating: T
Warnings: Grief/mourning, recovery
Summary: When I woke that morning in late September 1896, I found myself alone in my bed. The sun was shining merrily between a crack in the drawn curtains, announcing that the day had long since begun.
On any other morning this would have been no cause for concern but considering the events of the night before I found myself vaguely distressed. For Holmes and I had fallen into bed rather abruptly the night before with no prior discussion and while I understood the expediency that might lay behind Holmes leaving my bed, after all, it would not do for him to be caught here naked and asleep, I could not help but feel uneasy at waking up alone.
