Haha! The only two things I could think of to make it Victorian (don't ask me why??) are:

1) A fern plant. Simply a MUST.

AND

2) Some ridiculously ornate pattern behind them. Why not?

Thank you so much for this beautiful, rich and evocative art! I love their body language and their expressions. And, I love how the background suggests a conservatory. (I adore the plant! Also, the pattern of the settee.) The lines in Sherlock's dressing gown delineate the folds of fabric so well and enhance his languid pose. The drawing also suggests time travel to me. Has Sherlock been caught back in Victorian times and John has just managed to join him (wearing his black jacket with the leather patches - the pocket reminds me of that jacket of his) in time to participate in that intriguing adventure, so different from their experience at the military Baskerville? It looks rather like a reunion as well as a conversation, Sherlock relieved, John still tense after his journey, needing to reach out to confirm that Sherlock is really right there.
