Fic: Doyle, canon: I've been tinkering with the recurring theme in the canon stories where the law fails to do its job or lets people fall through the cracks of the system, but everything magically turns out fine because this is fiction and also How God Would Want Things To Be. Very christian of Doyle. I'd like to see a situation where that just... isn't possible.
A more specific example: in the Adventure of the Abbey Grange, Holmes deceives the police and places the blame of the murder on that family of burglars, who then go on to get themselves killed during a break-in. My question is: what would happen if they were caught instead, and then had to face the risk of being hanged because of Holmes' word on the matter? What would he do? How would it affect his relationship with the murders whom he protected, the police, his own sense of morality and responsibility?
Birkby pastiche: Anything with Holmes/Watson/Mary, really, I love those three so much. It would be really cool if it wasn't an "open triangle" either. Holmes and Mary have such an interesting dynamic in the first book, I would be so happy to see it blur the lines between platonic and romantic, especially over their shared love for Watson.
Watson & Holmes comics: Romance! Friendship! Inside Jokes! Holmes finally meeting Omare and becoming the fun uncle. If they fall in love I will adore you forever, the ao3 tag for these two deserves some more "/". Autistic Holmes and his special interest in Fleetwood Mac is always appreciated.
The Irregulars (SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!!): MAN this series is making me go insane, it was such a trip but in the end it's delivered more than I could ever hope. I know that the series just begs for fix-it fic everywhere, but I actually enjoyed the overall theme of grief and letting go of your past in this first season, and I'd rather you stay more canon compliant to keep it intact (so only unrequited Holmes/Watson, please). Bea and Watson are my absolute favourite dynamic to look forward to in the future, but I've been thinking about it and it would be cool to see how Watson & Billy would handle each other. After all, they were both the protectors of their group, they both pined from afar for their best friend, in love with someone else, and never told them their feelings, and I like to HC that the events in episode 7-8 left Billy in need of a cane to help him move around the city. I'd love to see Watson breaking a little bit of his own walls to offer him some advice on the matter (the pain, the discomfort, how to walk correctly), coming from personal experience. Spike/Billy would be a very interesting ship too, I LOVE best friends to lovers, and their interactions are always so much fun. AAAAAAAH I'm just really excited for this series, I have so many ideas for it!!
Art: So, SOMEONE (wink wink) spent a ridiculous amount of money so that the Internet Archive could buy and scan a copy of the Shackleford Holmes play ("to the only person I... to the only one who is like you", ring any bells?) and make it available to anyone. Art about the play or inspired by the events in it would be wonderful. Same thing with the Bert Coules radio adaptation, but especially of the Further Adventures, or something heart-wrenching from His Last Bow.
For the Irregulars, that last scene in the finale was just BEGGING for a Watson & Bea hug. I'd owe you my soul if you delivered on it instead <3
Special requests: I'm still not very firm on my feet with writing fic, so if it's possible I'd rather be paired with someone who is ok with receiving both fic and art, in case I need drawing to fall back onto.
