Welcome to all the newcomers - the more, the merrier (and no doubt some of you have read things even more obscure than some of what's on my shelf). Per usual, I have tweaked the lists for the current round, and also per usual, said lists should be viewed more as guidelines rather than actual rules. (Gee, I wonder where I may have borrowed that?)

TV/Film: Howard series; Dinosaur!Holmes (Asylum, 2010), Murder By Decree; The Return of Sherlock Holmes {Pennington); Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century; (etc. see notes)

22CEN: Holmes/Lestrade, Holmes & Lestrade, Holmes & Watson (etc.)

The real lesson here is that for me, romance is usually a secondary element of my taste in Holmesiana. That said, I can and do write couples as couples where a story calls for it, and I do read and enjoy work from writers whose takes on characters' relationships differ from mine. I can certainly write Holmes/Irene for the many canons where it's established, have written Holmes/Russell more than once, and (for example) would consider Enola/Cecily a legitimate possibility in that canon. Romance aside, I'm also happy to bring secondary characters into the spotlight and add to a canon's background, whether ACD or any pastiche/alt. canon I'm familiar with.
I like working with one or more of the following categories: :
AU (canon divergence), casefic, crossover, fluff, friendship, gen, humor, missing scene, etc.
With any of the following ratings: 1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; ... 4) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes; 5) moderate to explicit graphic violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes.
Let me put it this way: I am not your writer for either unremitting angst or splattery gore, but I'm willing to behead somebody if the plot calls for such, or to raise difficult questions if a situation requires them.
I am willing to create for the following squicks and/or kinks: N/A.
I'm likewise not your writer for explicit Holmesiana of whatever stripe. (It isn't principle, it's just that my mind mostly puts Holmes and kink/erotica/porn/etc. in separate archives, and they don't cross-pollinate to speak of.)

See above; the relationship(s) I'm looking for depend to a great degree on the source material. For ACD and close cousins (i.e. Kurland or Millett), friendship fic is best. For Enola: while I've highlighted the new Netflix feature above, I will totally not object to a thoughtful Enola/Cecily from the books - and would in fact prefer that, I think, to pairing her romantically with either the literary or cinematic Tewkesbury.
For Cavallaro, I am still trying to push through the third book so that I can make up my mind how much of a trainwreck it is...but based on the first two, I'm inclined to suspect that most of the gallery here can write a smarter, better-grounded Charlotte/Jamie than that canon is likely to supply. My library copy of book 4 went back barely opened, but I haven't given up on it quite yet; again, if you write here, feel free to veer AU at any point -- or not -- but don't worry about spoiling me; just note up front whether and where there may be spoilers, or the point where you part company with Ms. Cavallaro.
For the Mercedes Lackey books: Casefic is welcome; OTOH, so is Watson/Mary back story (and if you've got through Bartered Brides and are so minded, the relationship implications at the end of that one are, too). Alternately, we get very little of Holmes himself in that canon, but (as the newest book makes clear), he's very much still Holmes. I'd be interested to see his POV on either events in one of the published novels, or on some part of his history with this Watson and Mary that brought him face to face with magic.

Back story for secondary characters is encouraged, and worldbuilding ditto.

As above, so again here. Where romance is concerned, think canonical Russell (or canonical Amelia Peabody, from the Elizabeth Peters novels) for period settings; OTOH, in modern settings like the Charlotte Holmes books one can be a bit more flexible.

Exception: Cavallaro. Given that canon, a degree of kink/squick may be almost inevitable; if you're writing here, you have explicit permission and encouragement to go wherever and as far as you think a relationship needs to go (and don't feel obliged to limit yourself to Charlotte/Jamie). My only request is that whatever resolution occurs should leave both characters still able to move forward, whether together or apart.

The two main points to cover here are (1) I am conversant -- not unlikegardnerhill -- with far too many alt-Holmesian and pastiche works to list usefully in a signup proper. Feel free to troll through my signups for past rounds and to comb through my fic on AO3 for indications of things I may have read or seen, and feel very welcome to build a story around one or another of those if the mood strikes. Apart from a limited number of things off which I've bounced hard (most notably the later novels in Douglas' Irene Adler series, the Vanneman "Giant Rat", Gaiman's "Study in Emerald", there are very few Holmesian iterations that I wouldn't mind seeing more of. (FWIW, my favorite Giant Rat version so far is Richard Boyer's, although the Paul D. Gilbert novel I mentioned last round turns out to be fascinating and distinctive.)
And (2) I'm comfortable with a great variety of tonal or stylistic approaches as long as things don't get too dark or too outré. "Retired Novelist" from several rounds back did not stray too far over the top.)
On podfic: I would be delighted to hear any of my own Holmestice work podficced (or, alternatively, to hear podfics of any of the works gifted to me in prior rounds, with their creators' permission). Alternately, just about any of the 22CEN material up on AO3, or much of the ACD-traditional fic we've had in the last round or two, would be a pleasure to hear in recorded form.
A study in miscellany: Notes on a few specific canons:
(1) The 1987 Michael Pennington Return of Sherlock Holmes is (yay!) presently available on DVD...and there is indeed a copy of The Corpse Danced at Midnight by one "J. B." (aka Jessica) Fletcher in the Watsonian offices. If this is not an excuse for fic, I don't know what is....
(2) As may be deduced from its presence in the signup lists, I now own "Dinosaur!Holmes" on disc (if you have access to the free Pluto TV streaming service, it may also be in the rotation on their Asylum channel). The cheese is strong in this one, oh, yes, but so is the temptation....
(3) I have now finished Riviera Gold - and none too soon, as Castle Shade is due out sometime in June. As before, I also note that Laurie King has now formally acknowledged that the manuscript referenced in The Art of Detection, from her modern series of Kate Martinelli novels, is in fact a lost memoir from the Holmes/Russell partnership. That being the case, I would totally not object to seeing a story pulling modern Kate further into Holmesian territory.
(4) I will very probably have had a look at the new Netflix series The Irregulars by the time this round's deadline comes round. I'm probably not ready to write for it this time out, but if anyone else is that quick off the block, I won't object at all to reading the results.
And on print pastiches: for purposes of either writing or being written for, here are a few things I own and haven't looked at in awhile but would happily revisit (this is emphatically not a complete list):
• D. R. Bensen - Sherlock Holmes in New York (movie novelization)
• Coopersmith, Grudeff & Jessel - Baker Street - (script/book of the stage musical)
• L. B. Greenwood - Sherlock Holmes and the Thistle of Scotland
• H. Paul Jeffers - The Adventure of the Stalwart Companions
• Cay Van Ash - Ten Years Beyond Baker Street (guest starring Dr. Fu Manchu)
On my TBR stack:

I still need to acquire John Allen's Brimstone, featuring Louise Hawkins (later Conan Doyle) in the role of sleuth. (I've posted about Allen elsewhere as author of Shadow Woman, the non-fictional volume in which he theorizes that Louise actually created Sherlock Holmes and wrote a sizeable chunk of the Canon.)
