(Note: My favourite Holmes(s) are Jeremy Brett and Clive Merrison (Peter Cushing is bae too) and my Watsons are Edward Hardwicke and Michael Williams, in case it helps with characterization!)


So here’s a bunch of tropes or prompts that you can choose from or combine however it pleases you. A lot of these can suit a hurt/comfort scenario, but please be generous with the comfort, since that’s the part that I’m more interested in.

• Scars talk, mental and/or physical.
• Holmes cuts his hair very short, sort of based on Brett’s decision to chop it off in series 4 of Granada. (this is my favourite suggestion from this list)
• Hands/body praise, especially in aging bodies and unconventionally attractive traits.
• A friendly fencing, boxing, wrestling session or maybe even a fist fight during a case, or one of them is in an underground boxing match... and then it turns spicy behind doors. Can have a light sub/dom vibe if desired.
• Awkward first times. Kissing, lovemaking, love confession. You can decide what’s their previous experience in the field, but I’m partial to Holmes being inexperienced yet determined to not let that stop him from having some fun, and Watson having only slept with cis women to that point.
• Genderfluid Holmes and Watson being a bi disaster.
• Enthusiastic consent, even if it leads to awkward hilarity.
• For "The Irregulars" Netflix show, it would be cool to have the 5 kids having fun together, big strong found family energy, or at least not focused on the romance between Bea and Leo, but them as a tightly knit friend group, maybe them interacting with Watson after the end of season 1 . [SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOLIERS] Also Bea and Watson bonding over lost love, or Watson talking more in depth on his feelings for Holmes and getting some cathartic crying as Beatrice listens. If you want to do Holmes/Watson in this verse I would prefer it if it was pre-Alice, or if Alice is involved please no cheating or adultery. Watson taking care of a broken Holmes after Alice's disappearance is also  a neat concept, but feel free to ask for more details on this scenario if you're unsure with what I'm comfortable with.
