[personal profile] holmesticemods posting in [community profile] holmestice
Thank you so much for another wonderful round of Holmestice! The mods want to say THANK YOU to all the creators who joined us this round -- especially given how tumultuous this year has been. Being in this community with you is a joy and an honour.

Reveals and the Master List go up on December 21st. Until then, please enjoy and comment on all the lovely fanworks. Creators, please do NOT respond to Dreamwidth comments or post your works elsewhere on the Internet until reveals go up in the community. You may of course reply to comments on AO3, which preserves your anonymity.

In the meanwhile, stay tuned: treats are coming up! For anyone thinking of making a treat, we will accept treats right through until reveals, so if there's a prompt that inspires you, please have at it! Just use the regular submission guidelines and send your headers to holmesticemods@gmail.com.

If you'd like to guess who created what in this round, here's a list of all the contributors for the main gifts. (You'll have to put in some extra work to guess the treat-makers!) Go ahead and take a guess! It's all in good fun.

Oooh, this is getting even MORE exciting. Those are two excellent pieces of deduction! And it definitely all helps. :-)

On ha-Meesh, I was so busy looking at formatting that I clearly didn't pay attention to usage! I did think the punctuation looked quite definitely British. (The punctuation-outside-the-quotation marks thing particularly. Lots of Americans know about BE/AE spelling differences, of course, but I tend to think many fewer know to change their punctuation. Punctuation outside the quotation marks looked VERY weird and wrong to me all my life – until I did a master's degree in the UK and trained myself to do all my coursework in British. ;-) With the result that now I'm just confused. I'm pretty sure I've been alternating between the two styles all over this guessing post!) But you're absolutely right, "plow" is a dead giveaway. The typo you tracked down seems quite instructive, too.

Interesting! I'd had tepidspongebath for The Mystery of the Missing Changeling, but 1) tepidspongebath was one of the creators I was the least sure of over all and 2) tepidspongebath for The Mystery of the Missing Changeling was one of the guesses that had a question mark next to it all the way through the process. So even without having looked into it yet myself, I think there's a very high chance you're right about inamac. :-) (Also, I'm pretty certain Changeling was written by someone British – which fits inamac – and also it seemed likely to be by someone who offered gen – which fits as well!)
