Title: "Whispering soft nothings, receiving hard somethings in exchange."
Recipient:

Artist/Vidder:
strampunch
Verse: ACD canon, Granada
Characters/Pairings: Holmes/Watson
Rating: Suitable for general audiences (but implied mature themes)
Warnings: None
Summary: I was given "carte blanche" in creating anything I wanted, but after asking further I was suggested to revisit "The Adventure of The Retired Colourman". I'm afraid that the fact that stuck out to me the most was Holmes' infamous quote "I can picture you whispering soft nothings with the young lady at the Blue Anchor, and receiving hard somethings in exchange." to Watson, and the fact that this story features a telephone call between them (the story was published in 1926). I thought it was fun to feature this technology and imagine in how Holmes would torture poor Watson when appart.

Date: 2020-12-20 06:41 pm (UTC)Thank you for this wonderful thing, and all the thought you put into it! I didn't remember that there was a phone conversation in "The Retired Colourman", so this was a delightful surprise and I think I have to reread the story. Thank you, and thank you again!
