Many thanks to everyone who participated! If you see any mistakes or omissions in the master list, please email the mods and we'll get it fixed up ASAP.

We'll be editing the posts now to put all the author/artist and beta information in there as well, but it's going to take some time. Please have a little patience; we'll get there.

Hurrah for everyone, indeed!!

And an extra hurrah for starfishstar's extraordinary guessing this round!

Did you...actually attribute every single one of the main works correctly? It looks to me like you did. I don't think anyone's ever done that before, or is likely to again. Amazing!!

Also, congrats on your podfic, LOL! How sneaky to venture into that new world right there at the end :)

I DID. I got all of them. I'm still kind of stunned!

Thank you for all your enthusiastic cheering of those guesses along the way. :D

I admit, though, that as you said, that applies to the main works, but not the treats... Which means I'm slightly self-serving-ly leaving out the treats in order to consider it a perfect success rate! I do think that's fairly fair, since I didn't get to glance at the matter of guessing-the-treats until late last night, and I hadn't intended the treats to necessarily be part of the guess-every-work attempt. But then last night I thought, I can't really count it as having made a guess for every single thing if I don't at least mention the treats, right? And now I'm sort of kicking myself, 'cause maybe I should have just left them out. :D

But anyway, yes! Guessed 33 of 33 main works (discounting my own). This was fun and exhausting, and I'm very pleased, and I think you're absolutely right that I should now "retire" from this type of guessing and try something new instead next time. Like...laidback, instinct-driven guessing & no legwork at all. (Oh! No legwork! So, Mycroft rather than Sherlock, perhaps? That's a nice new challenge.) ;-)

OMG, congratulations! You win Holmestice. :D

That sounds like it could be fun! :p

Thank you!!!

Yeah, I'm not even sure what a Mycroft-of-the-guessing-post would look like, but somehow it sounds like a fun thing to try. ;-)

There were three treats. One treat-maker wasn't even on the contributor list -- successfully guessing [personal profile] mightymads is worth extra-special bonus points, but in my opinion, it's not sporting to consider that one a fair test. You made another treat, and of course you're going to throw that one. So there was only one 'fair' treat for you to guess, and you nailed that one, too.

I'm inclined to score that as a perfect 100 plus one bonus point (with the acknowledgment that a pie-in-the-sky 50 points was available if you got [personal profile] mightymads.)

Which is to say: well done! You have proven that the technique of reverse-engineering the matching mod, bolstered with [personal profile] scfrankles' technique of examining formatting styles, is eerily effective! (Says the matching mod, who has never felt so transparent in all her life!)

Oh gosh, this is a very kind take – I will happily consider it a 101. :D And thank you!!

(And it's funny, because I don't feel like I discovered or deduced anything about your matching process. It was all based on stuff you've commented about before! So, don't feel transparent, I think?)

Thank you for your work in keeping the fanworks end of Holmes fandom alive on DW and Tumblr. It's not so hot and heavy these days, but is so much nicer. - A. Non

Oh and I meant to also say, about the podfic! I actually thought I was going to be SUPER easy to guess, because I'd offered podfic for the first time this round. Not to mention I was one of only a very small number of Mary Russell suspects. So I'm very, very pleased to have more or less snuck that one by...even if SCFrankles did guess me on my main work *instantly*.

The funny story there is that the podfic was intended to be my main and only gift to Lang. But it didn't quite qualify (because it's an excerpt, not a complete work) so at the fairly last minute I scrambled to switch lanes to the art thing instead. I hoped I might actually have a chance of confounding guessers for once in my Holmestice life, since I hadn't even offered art, but, nope. Because SCFrankles! :D

I must point out that I didn't get your art "instantly" ^___^ It was more a case of it wasn't obvious who would produce graphics for these 'verses and it wasn't obvious what you had created, and then sticking those two things together :P

Um, I will say that it had popped into my mind at work that you might have been behind the podfic too ^^" It makes sense that the creator for language_escapes would be the one to produce a treat for them. But then when I got home I reread graycradinal's comment:

And I am even more doubtful that starfishstar is responsible for [This Meeting of Like Minds], even though the Supreme Commander of Guessing has suggested that it may be so. (On the one hand, scfrankles correctly notes that starfishstar must have fudged at least one guess on the list in order to make guesses about every entry. OTOH, if starfishstar were going to switch media in the first place, I'd predict a jump to podfic before one to art...

I knew that graycardinal knew who had produced the podfic because the creator had briefly been accidentally revealed. And at first I thought he was deliberately being misleading for your sake because now he also knew I was likely right about the artwork. But then I wondered if he would be hinting at you "switching media to podfic", if he knew that the podfic was indeed by you. And I decided he wasn't actually hinting, he was being straightforwardly honest and that the podfic was by someone else, and you got away with it :P

You did guess me for the podfic! I'm not surprised. :-) (And I did think it was rather a giveaway that there were two works for language_escapes, in the same 'verse no less, and surely the creator of one was at least a prime suspect for the other...)

I knew that graycardinal knew who had produced the podfic because the creator had briefly been accidentally revealed. And at first I thought he was deliberately being misleading for your sake because now he also knew I was likely right about the artwork.

I KNOW, I wondered that too: if graycardinal was just being excessively kind to me, so I could have at least a chance of going unguessed. I still don't know! But I did appreciate an awful lot that he didn't give me away after my slip-up with the metadata. (Creators have accidentally given themselves away with much smaller slip-ups, and this was a big one!) Awfully decent bunch, this Holmestice crew!

To be fair though, in the end I didn't guess you for the podfic - it crossed my mind as a possibility and then I talked myself out of it :P

I am so genuinely curious as to what graycardinal's intentions were ^___^ He seemed to be trying to mislead everyone, and direct them away from you being the creator for your artwork, but he also seemed to be hinting that you made the podfic and to be directing everyone towards that one. It was that apparent contradiction that finally (wrongly) convinced me that he knew you hadn't produced the podfic (but believed podfic in general was a possibility for you), and that he genuinely didn't believe you'd produced the art either.

Heh. The Cardinal this round managed mostly to confuse himself into a state of highly effective brain-freeze.

Indeed, he did not believe starfishstar had created the artwork in question, having -- due to selective memory of prior rounds and probably other prior inattention -- made a crucially incorrect assumption regarding said individual's geographic affiliation.

OTOH, the apparent hint regarding the podfic was more or less deliberate, it having been my sense at that point that leaving that tidbit might very well be an effective way to mess with the Supreme Commander's mind. :-) This may have been the one attempt at deception I made during the entire round that actually worked as intended.
