Creators, please do NOT respond to Dreamwidth comments or post your works elsewhere on the Internet until reveals go up in the community. You may of course reply to comments on AO3, which preserves your anonymity.

For anyone thinking of making a treat, we will accept treats right through until reveals, so if there's a prompt that inspires you, please have at it! Just use the regular submission guidelines and notify us at holmesticemods@gmail.com.

If you'd like to guess at who created what in this round, a list of all the contributors is below the cut. Go ahead and take a guess! It's all in good fun.

My wild and unfounded guesses

Ok so I for the most part have no idea who wrote what, but my wild stabs in the dark are Coat wrote A Slight Fabrication (the puppet one) because Idk I feel like Coat always ends up writing the really different verses and VTsuion wrote Designation S I think because of a couple different clues in their writing.
As for my gift I have zero clue who wrote it, though based on previous years I assume it's the person whom I wrote my story for lol.
Can't wait to see if anyone can guess mine!
:D

I *wish* I’d written “A Slight Fabrication”, but in all honesty, I didn’t even know Puppet Holmes existed until reading this story. There is something in the language that makes me suspect scfrankles. And the deliberate underlining seems just the sort of stylistic red herring I’d expect from said writer.

I'll have you know I've never employed a stylistic red herring in my life ^__^

It really did surprise me that even though the fic was assigned to me because I'm known for puns and comedy, and assigned to you because you write in unusual 'verses, everyone just glided over the regular participant who actually uses underlining, has written in pretty much every Holmes 'verse there is, and can do comedy, tragedy and everything in between. I didn't think this one was a difficult one to guess.

I think part of the issue of "everyone" gliding past guessing [personal profile] gardnerhill for "Fabrication", is that the people who are subscribed to her, and thus know her writing the best, were spoiled for her authorship due to the posting glitch, and thus felt honour-bound to keep mum. As I presume you were doing yourself, yes? Which meant that the only people actually guessing on "Fabrication" were less-acquainted with [personal profile] gardnerhill's complete body of work, and thus didn't realize how solidly it landed within her range.

I'll have you know I've never employed a stylistic red herring in my life ^__^

Which doesn't preclude you beginning the practice any round now...

D'you know, I am subscribed to gardnerhill and I've just been to have a rummage in my emails. I did get that email but it's unopened and I don't definitely recall seeing it ^^" I thought I was genuinely deducing the fic was gardnerhill's work but perhaps part of my brain did already know.

Anyway, I was keeping mum mainly because I guessed Rachel was considering me as a possible author and wanted to see how things played out ^___^
