Please include further details about what you’d like to receive: I’d prefer not to have Moriarty involved in the fic, or any really dark characters. But apart from that I don’t mind who takes centre stage. I definitely wouldn’t want major character death included in a fic, and I include Mary Watson’s death in that. Naturally you can set a fic after she has died—I just prefer not to read about her suffering and dying. And I would also prefer not to have Watson’s grieving period (for both Holmes and Mary) included. I also would prefer not to have an unhappy ending—willing to go as high as ‘bittersweet’.

Whether a fic is serious or comedic, I do prefer at least a touch of humour. Even at its worst, life is ridiculous and I like to treat it as such. However, I leave all this in the capable hands of my future assigned writer—naturally you will know what tone best suits your fic.

ACD: I’m particularly interested in the mature women of canon—people who have lived a little, no longer really care what others think of them, and who are competent and self-assured. Top of this list would be Mrs. Hudson, and the capable Mrs. Maberley from 3GAB. Also, Irene Adler’s housekeeper.

Granada: I would love to get a fic involving a sympathetic portrayal of one of these characters:

Tessa Worsley’s version of Irene Adler’s housekeeper

Patricia Hodge’s Lady Hilda Trelawney Hope

Rosalie Williams’ Mrs. Hudson


But if nothing takes your fancy there, please just ignore all that. In the end I just want to read a story that you’ve enjoyed writing.
