I wouldn’t mind any of the following squicks and/or kinks: None, but if you like writing sex, feel free. For me, loving tenderness, banter or even cranky familiarity, ardent passion or more quiet affection – those are all things I get excited to find in their bedroom!

Watson is my favorite character, and I always appreciate it if he can have a role in the story. I love Holmes as well, of course, and for me Jeremy Brett’s interpretation of the character is a favorite. I’m also terribly fond of Mycroft, if you happen to enjoy writing him interacting with Sherlock and/or Watson.
I don’t like angst, but I can enjoy subtle conflict between characters, especially if such conflict is resolved, or makes progress toward resolution, over the course of the story.
I ship Watson with Holmes and I love established relationship or developing relationship stories that give us a chance to see how their love for each other has a solid foundation in friendship, their long history together, and their ability to work well together. In general I love romance stories where the couple’s love for, and intimate knowledge of, each other shines through while they are doing something together that is not, on the face of it, romantic, be that meeting some minor challenge of daily life or some more dramatic adventure. But if you like bringing the romance and/or sexiness into the foreground, that’s also lovely!
That being said, if you prefer to write Holmes and Watson as friends, or as some variation of romantic-asexual, I am also happy to receive stories in that vein. I would prefer a story that doesn’t pair either of them with people other than each other, sexually or romantically. The exception to that is that if Watson is married to Mary in your story, then I prefer that Holmes and Watson be written as friends, since neither infidelity nor polyamory are my thing.
I Do Not Want: dark!fic, good guys torturing or killing bad guys, dub-con or non-con, abortion or miscarriage, angst/misery. For BBC Sherlock specifically, I don't want anything from Series 3 or 4.
I know some writers find specific prompts helpful while others are allergic to them. I will put specifics below, but feel free to ignore and do your own thing if you prefer!
For fic: I love magical realism and mythic elements, and it’s rare to find them incorporated into a Victorian-era Holmes fic – if you have any ideas you’d like to explore in that genre, I’d love it. Or if you’d like to transplant Holmes and Watson into a different historical era, I’d also be fascinated to see that. I also love more canon-compliant stories that expand on some passage in Doyle, or give us an outsider’s POV on Holmes and Watson, or that have them encounter clients from their past to see the impact they’ve made on their lives. I also love ‘getting to know you’ stories set in their early days of living together, as well as established relationship fic and retirement fic. I’d also welcome a crossover with Dorothy Sayer’s Wimsey/Vane novels. Did an elderly Holmes correspond with Harriet during her trial? Did Peter cross paths with Watson while both were in service during WWI?
For the Ritchie verse, I’m fascinated by the choice they made at the end of the last movie to have Holmes send Watson a message conveying to him the fact that he’d secretly survived Reichenbach. I love that this adaptation has canonically avoided the years of deception and grief, and I’m very interested to know how the two of them handled the hiatus after that, now that they’re both in the know.
In the Murder by Decree verse, I'm afraid I'm not at all interested in the Jack the Ripper plot of the movie or in true crime generally, but if you would like to take the versions of Holmes and Watson as portrayed by Plummer and Mason and write about them outside the bounds of the film's plot, I'd love it! Tell me how they met, or how they fell in love (if they did), or let me see more of their version of Baker Street domesticity, or follow them through an adventure, case, or slice of life, or share what their retirement was like.
For BBC Sherlock, if you want to stay close to canon, anything set in the first two series will be delightful. If you like going AU, that’s probably my favorite genre in this verse – I especially enjoy alternate professions, alternate first meetings, historical AUs, or magical realism.
For the other verses I requested, I don’t have specific prompts, so exercise your free rein!
And if none of these thoughts strike your fancy, don’t worry – anything that you write in any these verses will be wonderful <3 <3
For vids: I love vids. Anything you want to do, I will love it, seriously. THE SKY’S THE LIMIT.
For art: Anything focusing on Watson, Holmes & Watson, Holmes/Watson, Holmes & Mycroft, or Mycroft & Watson is very welcome. I’d especially enjoy anything featuring Edward Hardwicke’s Watson, as he’s my favorite and most Granada art seems to favor Burke :) And of course Martin Freeman, Jude Law, or James Mason's Watson are great for art, too, or your own imagining of ACD Watson if you prefer! Or even the adorable mice!
