Not only were you right that I wrote "Do You Observe?", but also about the exact thought process behind it: I truly don't feel I have the background to write these characters, and especially not their dialogue – I think any attempt by me to render the speech of young British men living on a London council estate would be inaccurate at best, and at worst probably offensive. But then I hit on the idea of using the 1sentence format that I knew from your beautiful fic, as a way to give just glimpses into my ideas for the characters...and it worked, and I'm so grateful to have found a way into them after all. So thank you, because I only knew that format from you!
