I will create:

A fanwork of the following type(s): fic

In one or more of the following parts of fandom:

With trepidation but also joy, I want to try my hand at offering More Holmes options this time! So:

Books: I could write for Sherlock Ferret – Ashton (haven’t actually read the books yet, but plan to buy them in short order!) and I think I could write for A Study in Charlotte – Cavallaro (preferably only book 1, not book 2); I hesitate to offer ACD canon because I’m completely untested at writing convincing Victoriana, but I could perhaps try if someone really wanted!

TV/Film: I haven’t watched many Holmes adaptations (yet), but I could watch something and then write for it, if a recipient has a specific request, as long as it can be watched pretty quickly (a single film, say, rather than a whole TV series) – e.g., I’m definitely planning to watch My Dearly Beloved Detective! And of course if the rarer options don’t match, I’m happy to write BBC Sherlock (prefer series 1–3 only). I adore the More Holmes aspect of Holmestice and would love to contribute it, but as you can see I’m still figuring out what More Holmeses I’m even able to offer, whereas I’m well-versed in BBC Sherlock.

For one or more of the following relationships: Pretty much any; equally happy to write pairings or genfic. (In fact, I love genfic!) I’m not generally a fan of writing villains or anything very dark, and I’m definitely not a fan of Eurus plotlines in BBC-verse, but can be flexible as needed.

I like working with one or more of the following categories: Fluff; (mild) Angst; Romance; Established Relationship; Friendship; Humor; Case Fic; Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence; Alternate Universe – Fairy Tales/Mythology/etc.; Childhood/Backstory (I’ve written a number of fics about young!Sherlock & Mycroft from BBC-verse); UST (that resolves into no-longer-UST!)

My wheelhouse is character-focused stories (be it friends, family or romantic partners) that center on emotions and interactions, but I can try to push a little more in the direction of plot/casefic if necessary. I can do romantic and a bit of sexy, but full-on explicit is beyond my writerly capabilities.

With any of the following ratings: 1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; 4) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes

I am willing to create for the following squicks and/or kinks: Generally none, but can try to be flexible as dictated by recipient’s requests!

I want to receive:

A fanwork of the following type(s): fic

In one or more of the following parts of fandom:

—I WOULD LOVE TO READ SOMETHING SET IN THE 221B Baker Towers ‘verse!!! I love that this exists, and I wish more of it existed. Anything in this ‘verse. Who is this Holmes? What makes him tick? What does it look like when he’s on a case? Who is his Watson and what’s their friendship like?

—I would also be happy to read about Charlotte and Jamie from Cavallaro’s “A Study in Charlotte” – I LOVED the first book, but found the second so disappointing: a mess in terms of plot and character, and pretty much an assassination of their friendship/relationship. (Not to mention, uh, don’t set your book in Berlin if you’ve clearly never even been to Berlin.) So I’d be more interested in something that ignores book 2 entirely…or maybe revisits some part of book 2 but takes more care of their friendship. (Friendship and/or romance, either is fine – I actually ship them, if someone could handle it competently!)

(BTW, random wild card prompt: when I first started reading A Study in Charlotte, I’d missed the memo and thought the narrator was a girl. Jamie, right? Girl’s name, maybe? I thought this Jamie was a tough, awesome girl on a rugby scholarship, and that this was going to be the amazing YA-genre lesbian Holmes/Watson the world needs and I was SO DOWN FOR THAT. So if you want to write that AU…)

–Sherlock Ferret! Don’t let sanguinity be the only person to have written fic for this ‘verse ever. :-)

—I’m also fine with getting a fic set in any of the ACD-canon-ish ‘verses (Granada, Whitehead, New Russian Holmes, etc.) – even if I haven’t seen the source material, I find I can follow a fic as long as it’s set in one of the versions that’s essentially a take on the canonical Holmes (as opposed to a very different retelling like BBC Sherlock or Elementary).

—AND I’m happy with a crossover, as long as it’s possible to follow the story even if I don’t know the other canon – I love seeing people’s creativity with this stuff! e.g., I was delighted by the New Russian Holmes/The Lost World and Study in Charlotte/22nd Century crossovers last round, despite only knowing 1 of those 4 canons. (Though if you want to cross over with something I already know and love… standard British things like Doctor Who, Torchwood and Cabin Pressure are good bets. Or…could Sherlock Holmes meet Miss Fisher?? Or Harriet Vane and Peter Wimsey?)

—And I’m happy to receive a BBC Sherlock fic, if the above suggestions were too obscure. :-) Just trying to widen the More Holmes options! In BBC ‘verse I love anything that puts the focus on one or more of the female characters; anything where Lestrade gets to be the hero of the story; I have a weakness for Mycroft/Lestrade; I have a weakness for anything “Anthea”-centric; and I’m happy to read Sherlock/John as anything from platonically devoted to desperately in love. Or Sherlock/Victor Trevor (fanon Victor, not S4 Victor).

For one or more of the following relationships:
Pretty much any, with the exception of “dark” characters (e.g., no Moriarty/Moran) or incest (no Holmes/Mycroft)

I like stuff in the following categories: Romance; Established Relationship; Friendship; Humor; Case Fic; UST (that resolves into no-longer-UST!); friends as chosen family to each other; crackfic treated with emotional depth (see below); AUs

With any of the following ratings:1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; 4) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes

I wouldn’t mind any of the following squicks and/or kinks: none, pretty much, though *references* to things like abuse or death or suicide are fine if it’s in the service of the story and not the only focus of the fic. Please no: extreme violence/gore/torture/rape, dark!fic, Holmescest, Omegaverse, major character death; and in BBC Sherlock I’m really, really not a fan of S4. (Or if it has to be S4, then definitely an S4 fix-it that gets Sherlock and John happily, firmly, permanently together, be that romantically or platonically.)

Please include further details about what you’d like to receive: One of my very favorite things is stories of the type that SOUNDS like it should be crackfic (examples from some favorite existing fics: Sherlock is an intelligent parrot; why is there a seal in the living room?; John and Mycroft meet every week for fish and chips…) yet achieves emotional depth and realism despite the absurd-seeming premise.

I don’t need all to be fluff and light (I actually prefer realism and complexity – like real life is!) but prefer happy or at least ambiguous-but-can-be-read-as-hopeful endings.

Basically, anything that focuses on the characters and who they are and what they mean to each other makes me happy. :-) Can be the purest platonic friendship or the wildest mad-for-you love story, silly-funny or deeply earnest, I’m good with it all! Write something you enjoy writing, and I will be delighted to read it.

Special requests: My free time right now is unfortunately curtailed (grad school!) so my offering is probably going to have to be on the shorter end of fics this time.
