(Ha.  I defy anyone to take *that* subject line as a prompt....)

At any rate.  Yuletide signup is done, That Other Story shows signs of being arm-wrestled into submission, and it isn't even raining yet.  Let's just see if we can get this in ahead of deadline, shall we?

I will create: a fanwork of the following types: fic
In one or more of the following parts of fandom:

Books:
Canon - ACD; Mary Russell series - King; Professor Moriarty series - Kurland; Solar Pons series - Derleth; Minnesota Adventures series (...& The Red Demon, etc.) - Millett; The Light Fantastic (Star Trek: TNG) - Jeffrey Lang (& see notes)
TV/Film: Ritchie films; Christopher Lee films (...Victoria Falls, etc.); Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century; Star Trek: TNG (hologram!Moriarty); Murder by Decree (& see notes)

For one or more of the following relationships:
For Mary Russell, Holmes/Russell; for 22CEN, Holmes/Lestrade; for most others, I'd look at Holmes/Irene Adler and/or Watson/Mary Morstan. (I note that there are a number of sub-canons where we haven't seen Irene Adler, and I'd absolutely be open to seeing what the Holmes/Irene dynamic looks like in one of those...)  For all canons, Holmes & Watson friendship is an absolute given.

I like working with one or more of the following categories:
Fluff, AU (various), post-Reichenbach, crossover, friendship, humor, casefic, gen, etc.  I am not primarily a romance writer in any fandom, though it has been known to happen (yes, I *did* just write a Harry Potter remix dealing in Hermione/Luna).

With any of the following ratings: 1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; 3) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes; 4) moderate to explicit graphic violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes  Essentially, don't look at me for smut.  I promise, it's not lack of interest in such things generally; it's just not really in my word-wrangling wheelhouse.

I am willing to create for the following squicks and/or kinks: None, please; per above, I am not your writer for smut/porn.

I want to receive: a fanwork of the following type(s): fic, podfic
In one or more of the following parts of fandom:
Books: Canon - ACD; Mary Russell series - King; Charlotte Holmes series - Cavallaro; Professor Moriarty series - Kurland; Solar Pons series - Derleth; Minnesota Adventures series (...& The Red Demon, etc.) - Millett; The Light Fantastic - Jeffrey Lang (& see notes)
TV/Film: Ritchie films; Christopher Lee films (...Victoria Falls, etc.); Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century; Star Trek: TNG (hologram!Moriarty); Murder by Decree; Young Sherlock Holmes (& see notes)

For one or more of the following relationships:
For Mary Russell, Holmes/Russell; for 22CEN, Holmes/Lestrade; for most others, I'd look at Holmes/Irene Adler and/or Watson/Mary Morstan. (I note that there are a number of sub-canons where we haven't seen Irene Adler, and I'd absolutely be open to seeing what the Holmes/Irene dynamic looks like in one of those...) For Cavallaro: I'm not opposed to Charlotte/Jamie, but then I think both characters should be much smarter about their own emotional baggage than Cavallaro gives them credit for; that relationship needs a lot of redevelopment by more thoughtful hands. For Kurland: Benjamin/Cecily is welcome, and if you can find a romance for any of the other characters, feel free to explore, but I'd prefer not to see Moriarty/Madeleine (or any other pairing involving the Professor and a subordinate).

For all canons, Holmes & Watson friendship is an absolute given.

I like stuff in the following categories:
Fluff, AU (various), post-Reichenbach, crossover, friendship, humor, casefic, gen, etc. and see above for romantic pairings I'd be open to reading.

With any of the following ratings: 1) suitable for general audiences; 2) non-explicit sexual content; 3) mild to moderate violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes; 4) moderate to explicit graphic violence or depictions of non-sexual mature themes. Per above: while I am totally not opposed to porn/smut/sexytimes, I don't particularly read Holmesian material (or most fanfic, for that matter) for that sort of thing.  (Yes, that does sound like compartmentalizing....)

I wouldn’t mind any of the following squicks and/or kinks:
While I am not looking for explicit sex on the page, action/adventure violence and plots involving violent or sex-related criminal activity are absolutely OK; in particular, things that would (and/or should) squick the characters will generally not squick me unless the violence gets too splattery.  (As a completely irrelevant but possibly useful aside, this is one of my two main complaints about the Kingsman movies -- there's too much gratuitous gore.  You are not making horror movies, people!)

Please include further details about what you’d like to receive:
I would be delighted to receive podfic of any of (1) my own Holmestice stories, (2) the Holmestice stories written for me, and/or (3) anything else available featuring the Russellverse, 22CEN, or holo!Moriarty.

As to prose: I've given some suggestions above about a couple of the odder subcanons.  For ACD, casefic, comedy, and character pieces are all welcome. For the Russellverse, followers to the latest novel are absolutely welcome.  I'd be greatly entertained by anything in which Solar Pons and Dr. Parker interact with elements of other pastiche-fandoms, whether in those fandoms' usual incarnations or in versions customized for the Pontine subculture.  (If I can do Charlotte Holmes in 22CEN, there's no reason someone else can't do Pons and <s>Russell</s>Lombard, or Pons in the 22nd century....)  Much the same goes for my mention of Young Sherlock Holmes; I'd be fascinated to see where that incarnation might go if introduced to some of the better pastiche-artist inventions.  And as I always note, I have read and watched much more widely in Holmesian pastiche than it's possible to list here, particularly with regard to older pastiches.  Feel free to scout backward into my prior signups for prospects, or to check with the mods to see if I've read or seen a novel/series you've particularly liked.

Special requests:
I think [personal profile] gardnerhill probably has me beaten for pure encyclopedic knowledge of the full range of Holmesian subcanons, but per above, I can write in a much broader range of these than it's possible to list.  (Does someone want fic about Brihtric Donne? I might be able to do that.  About the cat with the deerstalker in the Remington Steele end credits?  Let's talk.)  I will note only that, having done a fiendishly complicated 22CEN/CHAR fusion this past round, I am hoping this one will involve an assignment of a somewhat more conservative character.  I will very likely dare [personal profile] sanguinity right back if she tries to get too frisky on me this time out... :-)

Excuse me, but we did not assign you 22C/CHAR last round. You came up with that idea all by your ownself. You could have done something far more conservative with that assignment, if you had wanted to. WHICH APPARENTLY YOU DIDN'T.

Also, I'll dare you anything I please. I'm not the one with the impulse-control problem.

Just checking, but Young Sherlock Holmes is the Rowe/Cox film, and not the Granada Manor House thingamabob, yes?

I've already pulled the stealth podfic trick out of my hat so I can't demand Sang match us and I create a podfic for you. Boo.
