My favorite fics involve those that revolve around teamwork, loyalty, and going the extra mile for the sake of love or friendship. I appreciate the many differences in temperament, tastes, and skills between Holmes and Watson, and I like reading about how those differences complement each other.

I have always wanted to read a Rathbone fic in which the bumbling Watson shows his usefulness to Holmes in some way that still fits with his naive, light-hearted character. It bothers me that Bruce's Watson was too often shown as little more than an ignorant chump. He got so few chances to contribute to his partnership with Holmes, it was almost a wonder why Holmes brought Watson along at all sometimes. On the other hand, in many of the films, Rathbone's sharp Holmes takes sadly few opportunities to acknowledge Watson. I would like to see these things addressed in a fic. For example, I would like a fic about them helping each other to solve a problem, or escaping/exploring a place together, or acting absurdly because they're secretly in love with each other, or even just them appreciating each other. Any physical gestures between them, such as claps-on-the-back/hugs/kisses/arm-in-arms, are greatly appreciated!

In general, I will be happy with any fic that involves cooperation (for instance, Watson teaching Holmes how to play poker so that Holmes can solve a case), or that involves one character making a sacrifice for the other (or trying to). Happy endings, exploded secrets, random acts of friendship, and fluffy declarations of love are my jam.

I also greatly enjoy crossovers. I find it interesting to see what relationships form when two distinct literary worlds intersect. If you see another fandom in my AO3 works that you would write a crossover for, please do!

Finally, the fic can be in any format, such as prose, epistolary, dramatic play, etc. The fic can have sex, as long as sex is not the only point of the fic.
