Friends to lovers is my favorite kind of trope.

I always like a bit of humor.

I'd love something to do with travel.

Pining!Sherlock or Holmes is always a good time.

I don't like when Sherlock and John are written as being saccharine; I like them emotionally constipated. I don't mind a somewhat sappy Holmes and Watson, but I like them to still have an edge.

BBC Sherlock-specific prompt: A university fic set in the 1990s. (It may even be more interesting to keep them of university age and set it in the '80s. Or another decade of the 20th c.). I've been craving a good BBC Sherlock fic where the time period is very present, the characters' motivations are influenced by the times, etc. I wouldn't mind Victor Trevor cropping up at some point, a case!fic, Sherlock being a brat, and/or John being very much in-denial about his sexuality. I also think a Harry and Mycroft interaction would be interesting. (Please don't feel pressured to include all of these points).

ACD canon-specific prompts: A fic involving (any) historical figures of the time or a historical event. Or, on a more explicit note.......if you feel like writing a PWP, go for it, and if you'd like to include the following I wouldn't hate it: public sex (e.g., cottaging, Turkish baths) or other very Victorian sex practices/places. Or a fic about about Holmes and Watson getting together then telling each other about their past lovers.
