WOW WOW WOW!!!! I haven't seen enough Elementary to know anything about Jamie's character (still in the midst of S1), but the tension in her hands and challenging expression on her face tell me everything I need to know. I love the reticence in Joan's posture and the wariness in her eyes, even in this intimate moment where they co-occupy the setee (with bare feet!). I particularly love that the very center of this piece is the empty space between them and how you've managed to fill it with everything that's not being said here (not to mention the wonderfully suggestive color of the upholstery). I am absolutely blown away by your skill at rendering- you've done beautiful things with the light on their faces (and hair!). This is glorious, Mystery Artist! I only wish I had more knowledge of artistic techniques to praise it with greater precision. Bravissima!!!

This is beautiful! I love how the poses of both characters seem relaxed (like Joan casually holding a glass), but at the same time, they both look ready to strike any moment.
