If you're interested in beta-reading or beta-whateveryoucallitwhenit'sart-ing, please leave a comment to this post for our artists and authors to have some recources. Please give a short statement of what you offer to do, so anyone looking for a beta will have an idea of whether you'll fit.

Important: Authors and artists, please take care that the person you choose as your beta (should anyone volunteer) is not your recipient! I know that kinda goes without saying, but accidents happen. :)

Offering services as beta-reader and brit-picker.

Happy to review anything really - I don't find any writing particularly shocking and even if the content wasn't too much to my liking I would still be comfortable keeping any comments constructively critical.

I don't know how this usually works but previously I prefer to beta using tracked comments on a word document (via email). It just seems easier that way. Will provide email, if that is the standard procedure.

Hi! May I solicit your fine services to beta a story I'm churning out for the pinch-hitting post? :3

Cute icon image alert!

You can solicit me all you like! :P

I'll send you a message with my email. It's probably going to be the weekend, if that's okay with you?

Volunteering as "beta-whateveryoucallitwhenit'sart-ing", as lavvyan put it so nicely.
Basically I can provide a fresh pair of eyes, reasonable knowledge of anatomy and perspective and decent photoshop skills. All ratings fine.

And indeed I would never dare to doubt that. Cheers!

I'd be happy to beta. I won't beta slash or explicit sex, but otherwise, anything Sherlock Holmes is fine with me. :-) (Including BBC, though I am not British, so I cannot brit-pick...I think I could for late 1800s Holmes, but not for 2010)

Hullo! I also offer up my beta reading services. Slash is preferred, but otherwise, anything rating and subject is fine as long as you warn me first ;)

I can't Britpick (being a Colonial) and I'm not any kind of ACD expert, but I'm good at grammar and spelling, and can offer helpful commentary/feedback on narrative development, emotional content and character continuity.

I usually use track changes in word, but I'm pretty flexible in terms of vehicle.

Would you be up for Beta-ing a (currently rather sappy) BBC Sherlock fic?

Hello. I'm sort of late, but would you still be up for beta-ing BBC Sherlock S/J fic? It's about 3k long and it's a bit angsty. =)

Hullo! I can beta a fic if you like. I have a LOT of free time these days. Not because I'm fired from working or anything! I have time off for an injury, lol.

But, yes. I have written close to one hundred published fics. ;) --is not easily squicked--

Hi! I'm offering my services as a beta-reader (not Brit-picker since I'm American, although I can find the most egregious Americanisms). Gen is preferred, but I will work with slash and/or het; I would prefer to have rating and any warnings/kinks first.

I've worked with both track changes in Word and Google Docs. If you have a different method, just let me know; I'm pretty easy.

I could really use a fast beta for a BBC Sherlock piece, around 2000 words, if you are available, please?

Hello-

I'd be happy to edit BBC Sherlock stories, slash or gen (no het please). Preferred pairings: John/Sherlock, Mycroft/Sherlock. I am basically unsquickable, if that's a word.

I am polite but quite firm and thorough: editing is a substantial part of my RL job. I use track changes in Word, Google Docs, e-mail.

I work on structure, plot, consistency, believability, characterisation, style, voice. I will also discuss language, grammar, spelling: however, I am not a native speaker, so you should get a second opinion. I live in the UK so I might also be able to flag some obvious setting problems, with limitations.

I can beta! I can britpick, and am familiar with canon, granada, 2009, and BBC verses. I'm open to beta anything, really, just throw warnings (if there are any) at me first, just in case.

I tend to use track changes on word docs, but am open to other methods if preferred.

Would you mind Beta-ing or second Beta-ing my BBC verse slash fic?
