I will create: fic
In the following parts of fandom: BBC
For the following pairings: Molly/Moriarty, Sherlock/Irene, Mycroft/Irene, Kitty Reilly/Richard Brook, John/Sarah, John/his other girlfriends; gen!fic for all characters

I am willing to create for the following kinks: None.

I want to receive: fic
In at least one of the following parts of fandom: BBC, A Study in Emerald
For at least one of the following pairings: Molly/Moriarty, Sherlock/Irene, John/Sarah, John/his other girlfriends, Mycroft/Irene, Molly/Irene, Kitty Reilly/Richard Brook, Irene/Harry, Molly/crossover pairings (see below), Irene/any; gen!fic for all characters
I like stuff in the following categories: Gen, het, femslash; crack, fluff, humour, kid!fic, introspection, character study, unusual fic-styles (i.e. letter/diary/texts/web content/...), genderswap, magical realism, fairy tales, case!fic, action/adventure, strong female characters, creepiness (if Moriarty is featured), well crafted AUs (preferably with some magical / supernatural / fantastic / mythological touch), crossovers (for example: Doctor Who: 11th Doctor, Cabin Pressure, House MD, Discworld, ...), dark!fic, minor characters, back stories, asexuality (if dealing with Sherlock/Irene)
I wouldn’t mind any of the following kinks: Maybe some light BDSM if Irene is featured, otherwise none please.

Please include further details about what you’d like to receive:
Please don't be shocked by the lengthy explanations that follow. I'm just trying to give you an idea of who I am and what I (dis-)like in fics and hopefully provide you with some kind of starting point for your story. But please feel free to pick and choose prompts or ideas you’d like to work with. :-)

I also know I’ve listed many relationships above. That doesn’t mean you have to ship them all romantically or sexually (though of course you can!). Nor do I need HEA fluffy romance fics for all of those pairings (for some that’d be a bit hard to imagine, say Mycroft/Irene). It mostly just means that I’m interested in these particular characters’ dynamics. If you’re more happy with gen!fic for any of these character combinations, by all means feel free to just show me some interactions between them without shippy undertones. I promise I won’t mind! :-)

DO NOT WANT: Reichenbach angst or suicidal John post-Reichenbach. Getting together, first time or pretending to be a couple fics. Also not too fond of prolonged UST, excessive pining, h/c, schmoopy romances or lengthy declarations of love from characters who usually don't talk about their feelings at all. No really explicit sex or violence (NC-17 fics), please. While I don’t mind character death, sad or angsty fics in general, I don’t like fics that solely focus on everyone else being sad about someone’s death or that are overly sad or angsty just for the sake of being angsty and sad.

WANT:
I like fics that focus on character study, character development and interactions / relationships between characters. I like characters that are three-dimensional, flawed and doing things rather than only thinking about doing them. I also like clever plots and surprise twists or elaborating on background stories, especially for minor characters. I like fics that provoke thoughts and make me ponder about questions of morality, of what I would have done or what really defines "appropriate" behaviour.

I love a little humour (or a lot if it fits the fic), either humorous banter among characters or a humorous tone of narrating the story. If that’s your thing you could try subverting common tropes for humorous effects. Clever use of or playing with fandom or general storytelling tropes in general would be awesome as would be unconventional narration (maybe non-linear or using an unusual fic-style like letters?). I'd also love some allusions or references to other fictional / pop cultural works. However, if this kind of meta doesn't fit your story or you don't feel comfortable including it, of course you don't have to. I like stories that take themselves seriously just as much.

For the tone, I love everything between total fluff and dark!fic, whatever is appropriate to the plot and setting you have chosen. Fluffy ones can be a bit cracky or just sweet and light, for darker ones I have a soft spot for properly evil Moriarty and for scary!Mycroft – but everything in between these two extremes is fine, too! Also, complete crack is totally great – the weirder and funnier, the better. :D
(Note though that it's important for me that the tone of the fic suits the characters and setting. If you'd have to go OOC to write fluff, I'd rather prefer something serious - unless that OOC-ness is the point of the fic...)

I really enjoy AUs and crossovers at the moment, so you could make me happy there. Crossovers can include, but are not limited to Doctor Who (11th Doctor), Cabin Pressure, House MD, Discworld, ... If you find something else on my journal or my list of interests that fits your idea, feel free to use that fandom instead. I like both crossovers and fusions (or AUs that lean on other canons) and I have a soft spot for crossover pairings featuring Molly, especially if she gets a really nice and caring boyfriend (say Martin Crieff), though of course that's no requirement. For AUs, I prefer them with a slightly magical or fantasy touch. Like for example fairy tales or using a classical fantasy setting or maybe a Steampunk AU. Or “simple” magical realism would be great, too.

I’d also like to see some genderswap fic. I've never requested this before so I'm not sure how to phrase it... But please think the genderswap through. How will the other characters / society in general react differently to the genderswapped character? Do you have to change some character trades or at least other people’s treatment of them? How will dynamics between characters change if they’ll change at all? How does it affect canon / your story? Feel free to include discussions of / thoughts on gender roles.

Some more specific prompts:
- As mentioned above, I love to see back stories of almost all characters, especially minor ones. You can literally pick any character that has just a single line in the show and make them into a well-rounded, flawed and believable person and I’d be super happy. But background stories for major characters are just as good! I never tire of childhood or adolescence stories featuring the Holmes’ brothers and I’d really like to see more of John’s and Harry’s relationship before John joined the army. Maybe Harry threw him a (bittersweet) farewell party before he left for Afghanistan?

- I’d love to see Sherlock and Irene meet under different circumstances, so that they could end up working together. Maybe Sherlock was originally hired against Irene, but finds out his employer has a dark secret as well and Irene is actually on Sherlock’s side? I’d prefer the characters to be shaded and grey like in the show, just not outright criminal, especially Irene. Your choice if Irene has another secret agenda and is just using Sherlock in the end. ^^

- Give me some unexpected interaction between characters. Maybe Irene is using people close to Sherlock or John to gain information / an advantage (Harry, Molly, Mycroft or even Lestrade?)? Irene and Mycroft are particularly intriguing together: they kind of seem to know each other rather well in Scandal in Belgravia - why?

If you want to write in the “A Study in Emerald” ‘verse, please know that while the above is still generally true, I’d really love any story set in that universe! Scary or dark fic with a Cthulhu-monster-hunt? Funny shenanigans with the acting troupe? More about Moran and Moriarty and their standing in the society? Adventures of Holmes, the revolutionary? Re-inventing other characters like Irene Adler in the context of this universe? All is awesome, as are world-building stories or character-studies of these slightly different versions of our known characters... I just want to know more about that amazing universe! :-D
(edit: I've seen that several people offered A Study in Emerald / BBC crossovers. I can't really imagine that crossover myself, but if you can by all means feel free to write it, too. I'm sure it'll be awesome!
Also, you can read “A Study in Emerald” for free on Neil Gaiman's homepage.)

Special requests: I like writing for prompts rather than for vague likes. Also, I usually write gen and while I am willing to include all pairings listed above, I can’t write anything even vaguely sexually explicit. So it might be best to match me with someone who isn’t hoping for much sexual content.
