The sign-ups are now officially open!

Please note that this is a non-denominational exchange, but the default assumption for the time of year might be Christmas; if you absolutely don't want to receive a Christmas-themed gift, please note so in the do-not-wants of your sign-up post. Likewise, art and stories don't need to have anything to do with any type of December holiday unless the recipient specifically asks for it.

If you want to take part in the exchange, all you have to do is join the community and create a new post with your gift request. Please use the following template:

We will guarantee that you will be matched with someone who matches you in the above categories, but this is the space to give the person you’re matched with a better idea about what kind of stuff you like.

Special requests: This is the space to give us an idea of what you'd like us to take into consideration when we match you with your recipient, e. g. "While I don't mind dark!fic, I've done that the last two times around, so if at all possible, give me something cheerful?" We're not promising that every match will be perfect, but we do try.

You can edit your post until sign-ups close on October 17. Anything you add or delete after that will not be taken into account.

All stories have to be a minimum of 1,000 words in length, icon posts should contain at least 10 icons. Any type of fanwork is required to go through some kind of beta process. All finished fanworks must be sent to the mods at holmesticemods@gmail.com on or before November 23 (if you have us in your address book, the old address still works). If you haven't submitted your work by then and have not contacted us for an extension, we will automatically look for a pinch hitter.

Please remember that if you sign up to receive a gift, it'll only be fair if you create one as well. That said, if you have to drop out of the exchange for any reason, please e-mail contact one of the moderators as soon as possible or e-mail us at holmesticemods@gmail.com so we can find a pinch hitter to create a gift for your intended recipient. If you need your recipient to clarify hir prompt or ask if ze's all right with that one particular thing you'd like to work in, please contact us, and we'll forward the question to preserve your anonymity.

TWO IMPORTANT THINGS

1. For simple lack of time, we are not promoting this all over LJ. If don't see us advertise on your favourite Sherlockian comm, please feel free to put up a post of your own. We'll happily send you virtual kittens and cookies. If you live nearby, you're welcome to hop on over and I'll hand you an actualfax cookie.

2. This is absolutely and definitely the last exchange run by

colebaltblue and

lavvyan. If no one volunteers to take over (see this post), this is the last round of

holmestice, period.
