If you're interested in beta-reading or beta-whateveryoucallitwhenit'sart-ing, please leave a comment to this post for our artists and authors to have some recources. Please give a short statement of what you offer to do, so anyone looking for a beta will have an idea of whether you'll fit.

Important: Authors and artists, please take care that the person you choose as your beta (should anyone volunteer) is not your recipient! I know that kinda goes without saying, but accidents happen. :)

I'm willing to beta stories of up to 5,000 words in any 'verse except Russian!Holmes.

What I offer is picking apart your characters, plot and general writing, e.g. pointing out storytelling clichés and the like.

What I don't offer is language advice. I can't Brit-pick and I don't believe in most of the finer rules of grammar, so if you want to split your infinitives I'll do nothing but cheer you on unless it makes the sentence sound weird.

I'm a very blunt beta, so if you're sensitive about your writing (nothing wrong with that, a lot of people are) I'm probably not the person you want to ask for feedback. :)

I'm available to beta fics in ACD canon or BBC verse. I'll read pretty much any pairing, but no non/dub con, humiliation, or mpreg.

I'll help with characterisation, plot, and brit-picking. I'm ok-ish with grammar, but not perfectly clear on all the rules, so I'll just poke you if your sentences sound off. I'm also willing to help with idea bouncing if needed.

I'm happy to beta most things. I can brit-pick and do grammar (on account of my age!) I'm comfortable in ACD canon and BBC verse and will do other versions but won't notice if the voices are wrong. If there's anything you'll need to add a warning about, then please just check I'm okay with it.

I'm willing to beta any rating and (almost) any verse, but please do tell me in advance what the warnings will be, if any.

I mostly Brit-pick, correct grammar (in a pretty nit-picking way, if that's what you want), spot inconsistencies, that sort of thing... I can also comment on plot, characterisation and so on, though if it's the latter you want, note that I'm not so familiar with the film or TV versions.

I don't have Word :( so I won't be able to do that track changes thing. But you can still send me Word documents.

I'll beta if I'm not to late to join...I really was looking forward to it but lost track of time(plus it wasn't not advertised on watsons_woes). What I won't beta is explicit slash fics.
