I am happy to beta-read, and can be best reached here or on Tumblr (also under OldShrewsburyian.)
Types of fanworks you can beta: I suppose I can beta anything? but I do not have skills in art or vid-making. Fic is my comfort zone.
Fandoms in descending order of familiarity: ACD canon, Granada, Elementary, Rathbone, BBC Sherlock. ETA! I also am familiar with the Laurie R. King series, Lyndsay Faye's Holmesian novel and stories, and Alexis Hall's The Affair of the Mysterious Letter.
Pairings: I'm happy to beta for Holmes/Watson in any setting (though I just don't see it in Elementary, I can see it made compelling.) Also happy to beta for Watson/Mary Morstan, or Holmes/Watson/Morstan. I don't read the Adler/Holmes relationship as sexual but again, if that floats your boat! I'm not sure there's any universe in which I can picture Holmes/Lestrade (mentally checked. I really don't think there is. Not even Elementary, and I love Sean Pertwee.)
Ratings: I'm asexual-ish, so I don't think you want me beta-ing your smut, though I don't mind it as such. Sexual assault/violence is a no-go for me personally, but I think that's my only hard line. I usually only write through M, myself, to use the AO3 rating system.
Additional details: I am an opera nerd with above-average historical literacy, in case that's helpful. I have big feelings about Sherlock Holmes and the social issues of his day, in fact! I have also taught English composition and continue to mark essays as part of earning my daily crust. Whether this is viewed as an asset or a drawback may depend on you! Also: I'm not a Britpicker, but I have lived in NYC, so if any Elementary-writers want local color, I might be able to help.
