*jumps excitedly up and down* I've just been doing a bit of actual detection work - not sure if this is going to help or be an annoyance :P
I went to check what inamac's nationality is on their DW profile. They seem to be British, and I am certain - 100% certain - a non-Briton wrote Actually, It’s Pronounced ‘ha-Meesh’. There's "plow" - and as Holmes himself points out in 3GAR, it's spelt somewhat differently on this side of the pond. There's also "throw him to the kerb" - kudos to the author for going with the correct homophone (we curb our enthusiasm but our pavements have kerbs) but it doesn't stop the expression from sounding rather American.
But also, when I clicked on inamac's name on the header for their gift fic, it took me to a post in which they mention Holmestice. Only "Holmestice" has a typo - "Holmstice", and I knew I had seen that particular typo already elsewhere in an author's notes.
I think The Mystery of the Missing Changeling is by inamac.
And I am resolutely sticking to my theory that Actually, It’s Pronounced ‘ha-Meesh’ is by iwantthatcoat. They have been trying to talk me out of this guess, which I think is significant ^_^
