It's That Time of Year Again!
It's time to start ramping up for the summer round of Holmestice! As always, Holmestice is an anonymous gift exchange for all Holmesian fandoms and all kinds of digitally-hostable fanworks.
As with the last two rounds, we'll be on Dreamwidth again, but with one small change: if you wish, you may now post your work to AO3 instead of having it hosted on Dreamwidth. (For those who were around then, this is the same as how we ran the Summer 2015 round.) Sign-ups will be on DW; matching will be done by hand behind-the-scenes; works will be announced on DW and made anonymously visible a few per day throughout the posting period; the individual works themselves will be on Dreamwidth, AO3, or both, depending on the creator's preferences.
Please let us know what questions you have!
The schedule for this next round:
Keen eyes may notice this is a week later than our usual schedule -- we had to shift things around a bit because of the mods' personal calendars.
As usual, any help in advertising the community would be wonderful! Here are two existing banners you can use:

And of course if you would like to make your own promotional graphic for the exchange, we welcome that!
Please feel free to comment here on this post with your thoughts, hopes, dreams, and wishes. We're looking forward to this coming round and hope you are, too!

Once again, I really shouldn't sign up because that's exactly I have a massive pileup of coursework deadlines...but once again, there's a very high likelihood I will sign up. :-)

This summer's Holmestice

Re: This summer's Holmestice
On April 8th we'll post all the instructions for signing up, but it's basically a form you copy and and fill in, and then paste either to a new post or as a comment on the sign-up post. Having a DW logon makes that process slightly easier, because then you can edit your sign-up if you have errors or corrections, but many people manage just fine without the logon. When sign-ups are over we'll pick someone for you to create for (their list of requests will overlap with your list of offers), and we'll email you their name and sign-up. By the time you finish making their gift (May 31), we'll post instructions here at the comm about how to post/send-in your gift. After that, it's just a matter of enjoying all the gifts, continuing to keep yours secret, and taking a shot at guessing other people's secrets. If you have any questions about the details, please do ask: things always go more smoothly when people ask questions early enough to let us solve problems. :-)
If you'd like to start thinking about your sign-up now, here are the sign-up instructions for last round; this round will be mostly the same as that. You'll see that there are some people's sign-ups in the comments of that post, but there are also many more here and here, in case you have questions about what kinds of thing people offer or request. You'll see sign-ups range from ones that focus on a single fandom and pairing to those that offer/request a hodgepodge of miscellaneous things -- both ways of doing it are fine.
And I hope that isn't too much of an information deluge! As I said, please do ask questions if you have them. :-)
Welcome, and I hope you have a lovely time!

I really shouldn't sign up, because I've got not one but two FTH fics that I'm working on at the moment, but I have too much fun with this exchange to pass it up.
