A present for me!! I do realize that's what happens in a gift exchange, but I'm still childishly delighted. This is charming -- I'm glad to know that Anstruther sometimes had his work done for him, as well as the other way around. And I got a good chuckle out of Watson's Wagner-avoidance. I can only presume that they skipped Rheingold and got right on to the other three parts of the Ring; I hope Holmes' Walküre wasn't interrupted by Lord Tremoyle's indisposition.
This was really cleverly put together, and I enjoyed it thoroughly, particularly the playfulness with clues and readers' expectations. I also, of course, love the look at Holmes' appreciation of Watson's professional virtues, and their affectionate and friendly banter with each other. Thank you!
