Aw, this is so sweet! All three of them figuring out their marks and their multiple bonds to each other and what it all means. Mary is especially marvelous, so grounded and smart and loving. I love, too, this vision of a world where Mary trusted John with the secrets of her past from the first – I don't think I've actually seen that in a fic before.
And oh, that twist at the end where Mycroft steps in, and they think he's lying but we know he's probably not, but it's left delightfully ambiguous, especially since it *sounds* so much like how Mycroft would lie if he were lying – clever!
