I was very excited to be matched with you, especially since Watson is my favorite character, too. I had never written Ritchie!verse before but it seemed like it had the potential to be fun, and I imagined that their first meeting in this verse was probably a little more action-packed and bizarre than in ACD canon :) I'm glad you liked Stamford, too -- I do enjoy giving him a sense of humor and a more knowing role to play in this greatest of literary introductions!
Ahahaha, yes, the barter line in the first film is one of my favorite bits, it succinctly conveys the exasperated affection and nutty domesticity that defines their friendship in those movies. I'm so glad we enjoyed the same things in this verse. It was a pleasure to write this for you!
