A Holmesian Solstice

Thank you so much! I don't know if you've ever seen these movies, but they are a DEEPLY WEIRD mixture of ridiculousness and sweetness. Put-upon Watson is very much the order of the day :) The barter idea is based on one of my favorite dialogue exchanges in the first movie. And I'm so relieved that you thought the transitions to more serious moments worked well. To be honest, I felt so rusty when I was writing this fic that I worried every shift in tone was going to shriek like a broken gear box. Very glad to know that it all worked out in the end :) Gladstone's kidnapping was a last-minute idea, but once I had it I knew it was the right joke to end on!
