I know I shouldn't be laughing right now (because angsty fic! much feelings!) but I've always thought of 7PER as the canon that frees Watson from having to mourn Mary and Holmes at the same time. However, I see now that I should never have underestimated the power of a good fanwriter to reset things to "nope! Watson's still gonna mourn be seriously distressed for them simultaneously!" ;-)
But my own giggle fits aside, you have a nice touch with the emotional notes, and I like your foregrounding Frau Freud, who we never saw that much of. And there's likewise the sneaky punch that neither of them can see coming just yet: her comfort will ultimately turn out to be not that comforting, because Holmes is gonna turn down Watson's "constant support and friendship" and choose to go it alone. And what happens after that is anyone's guess...
