What a great merging of ACD and Usher! I'm not sure I see TAB, but Holmes and Watson came across as very ACD to me. So Victorian, with the secret relationships and worry about disinheritance and family honour (and creepy old houses!). I especially like how attentive and thoughtful Holmes is, in particular to Watson of course but also to Corvus. The switch to first names in the narrative was lovely. A really beautifully put together story.
