smallhobbitNow, I realise many of you are furiously working away at your Holmestice offering which will be due towards the end of next month, but I'd just like to draw your attention to two other communities you might like to join - either now, or when your current masterpiece has been safely sent off to the loving Holmestice mods.

watsons_woes which caters for all Watsons everywhere. Obviously the major activity of the year is July Writing Prompts, and July has passed - even without being a Holmes, I can tell, for it is getting colder. But the comm is open all year round for submission of whatever kind, so long as poor old Watson is suffering some sort of woe. For the last couple of years there has been WAdvent as well - like an advent calendar but for the whole of December, with a small offering every day of the month.
Secondly,holmes_minor which is for the original Arthur Conan Doyle creations, although there are many and varied AUs which also appear - the only criterion is that they remain recognisable as Doyle's characters - even if, during this Hallowe'en season one of them is wearing a white sheet. The other rule is the length of contribution, which should be no more than 500 words, or the equivalent in a different medium. There is a monthly prompt, a monthly activity - this month was a ladies word search, although sadly not all the Violets were present - and a monthly poetry page.
