That's lovely! I love Joan's face. You can see how demanding she is, lol,. You did such a beautiful job on the colors and shading, the smudgy style and I love the background.

Oh beautiful! I love the gorgeous painterly style and the blurry background - it gives the picture a lot of movement, like a photo of the moment just before a kiss (and I have no trouble imagining what follows!). The color palette is lovely as well, I particularly like the purple and green tones you pull out of Joan's hair and Sherlock's skin, complementing the background. What a gorgeous depiction of an equally lovely scene. Thank you, anon!

I've never shipped Holmes and Watson before. To me, they always seemed more like two sides to the same person than two people who ought to be romantically intertwined. But that's just me. However, there is something really, really complete about Sherlock and Watson's personalities in Elementary that sets them apart, I never want them to get together on the show, but that said -- I ship them like crazy.

Everything about this picture captures not only their personalities, but the feel of the show. The lights in the background remind me of their rooftop exchanges and Joan having her hair back is, even, sort of a character point. I absolutely adore how you played with texture in this piece, and I love the really solid, easy-handed brushwork feel. I want to say it seems "less polished" but I don't mean that in a bad way -- more that it's a bit grittier, a bit more emotional, it captures more movement (I think) and is somewhat suited for the kind of show Elementary is and the kind of relationship these characters would have.

ALL THIS TO SAY: I love it, a lot -- and I'm sorry I've been so terribly late in leaving a comment. It's been a ridiculously busy few weeks and I'm behind in all of my things. But I really, truly love this. I'm incredibly impressed and absolutely stunned at the quality. Thank you so much!

Lovely portraiture. I'm not familiar with Elementary but this is just gorgeous!

The expressions are great! SH looks like he needs to consider this a bit more! I love the lights in the background, the skin tones and the stubble.
