THAT. WAS. BRILLIANT. I only recently read A Study in Emerald, but I've been a Lovecraft fan for years. I adore how perfectly in-character these characters are for a universe cocked ninety degrees and yellow away from this one. And I agree with the previous poster re: this story standing easily beside Gaiman's.
