Please include further details about what you’d like to receive:

In general, I love works that focus on secondary characters, so if there are any secondary characters in the canons mentioned that you’d like to write about, go for it! I love friendship stories and character studies and like to feel like we’re really getting a chance to understand the characters and why they do what they do. I also ADORE case!fic. Those are my general likes; as for specifics:

Canon - I am eternally interested in some of the secondary characters, especially the myriad of Violets, Kitty Winter, Isadora Klein, Lestrade, Hopkins, all the Yarders together, Shinwell Johnson, Porlock... any of them. I love learning more about their inner world and what their life is like outside of the glimpses we see of them in the stories. I also enjoy these characters in relation to their relationships with Holmes and Watson over time. For art, I love seeing non-standard depictions of canon characters. Additionally, I've recently read the Peter Wimsey-Harriet Vane novels, and am fascinated by the idea of Wimsey and Holmes, in particular, meeting. Though if you could get all four in a room together that would be delightful. Oooo, what would BUNTER think of them all??

Mary Russell - I just... there is something that always brings me back to the Russell novels. They're such a comfort read for me. Mary is one of my favourite characters of all time (yes, yes, throw tomatoes all you want, I love her, though). I'd love to see more of Mary interacting with THE TWENTIES, because while we get glimpses here and there, and hilarious moments of her being very wrong-footed and uncomfortable in the set of folks who really got into The Roaring Twenties, I'd like to see her end up immersed in the glitzy glam jazz era side, and falling more into the darkness that the glitzy glam side is hiding. With or without Holmes, at that point, I just want her to have to reckon, full force, with the somewhat stereotypical, but very much real, Roaring Twenties. This is also another space where a Peter Wimsey-Harriet Vane crossover would be lovely, especially since it's already in existence in the books. I would love to see Mary and Harriet meet, in particular, to see what they would make of each other. They have a lot in common...

Infernal Device Professor Moriarty series – I just started reading my way through this series; I’ve read the first omnibus which includes Infernal Device, Death by Gaslight, and the short story Paradol Paradox. I’m currently about mid-way through The Great Game, and will probably be on Empress of India by the time matches got out (at which point I will probably need to switch gears to re-read whatever I get assigned to). I ADORE Cecily in this series; she’s the real hero, the true protagonist, as far as I’m concerned. She’s clever, ambitious, funny, and just… really, really interesting. I’d like to see more of her work as a journalist, or her taking on a case of her own, without Barnett being involved (I’m sorry, she coulda married better). I’d also be intrigued to see her and Holmes interact, or her and Moriarty (since she’s clearly smart enough to keep up with either of them). Alternatively, having her meet Mary Watson and discussing being the “wife of the sidekick” and what that actually entails could be interesting… ETA: Just finished The Great Game. I would like to add that anything about Madeleine or Jenny would be extremely welcome as well. Or anything with Cecily, Madeleine, and Jenny all together! I would like that very much. ETA2: So I was getting ready to check out Empress of India when I decided to look up if Madeleine or Jenny or Cecily would be in it AND I JUST LEARNED THAT NONE OF THEM APPEAR IN THE SERIES AGAIN AND NOW I AM ANGRY. So I will not be reading Empress of India or Who Thinks Evil and will instead welcome the further adventures of Cecily, Madeleine, and Jenny.

Shelby Holmes – These are such sweet little stories. I’d love to see something slice-of-life for Shelby and John, maybe non-case related. And it would be cool to see Shelby’s nemesis come back in some way. Oh, and I want to see Lestrade and Shelby and John come to work together well at some point. I love in the third book Shelby ruminating on bullying and her own behaviour, and I'd love to see more of that. I haven’t yet read the fourth book, though I do own it. I also find the art style for these books absolutely charming.

Test of the Professionals – I love how Wilson writes Lestrade and the Yarders. Literally give me an entire story about the Yarders doing something together and I’d be over the moon. I owe my entire fascination with the Yarders to this series, and now I’m always craving more.

Tea Master and the Detective – Okay, honest confession: haven’t fully finished this short story yet. BUT I LOVE IT. I love the world, I love the characters, I love the concept, and I want more of this one.

The Whole Art of Detection – There are a whole bunch of different short stories in here; episode tags for some of them would be cool! Fleshing out some of the secondary characters would be awesome, too.

Mrs Hudson and Mary Watson Investigations – It makes me so sad that more people haven’t hopped on this series, given just how lovely it is. We’ve gotten some conversations between Holmes and Mrs Hudson in the series itself, acknowledging quietly what Mrs Hudson is doing, but what about Holmes and Mary? I’d love to see how Holmes approaches her, and how Mary reacts and handles him. I’d also enjoy seeing how Watson and Mary came to a decision where he would teach her medical stuff. And I’d love to see Mary, Mrs Hudson, and Irene team up once more.

Charlotte Holmes - as you might guess by the asterisk, this is a request with the big caveat of not liking the Charlotte/Jamie relationship AT ALL. I haven't read the last book yet, so maybe the last book tries to fix everything, but the fic definitely should either try to fix Charlotte/Jamie so that it's palatable or ignore it all together. I would love a Charlotte and Lena focused story, either slash or otherwise. Just those two, against the world, living their best lives possible and being besties (or girlfriends). (As a note, I am currently reading the final Charlotte Holmes book, one chapter a day. So I’ll probably be done with it by the time the stories are posted, if you want to write in this ‘verse.)

A Study in Honor - I would love to see fanart for this book, either a scene from it or an imagined one. As for fic, I have no concrete ideas, I'd just like to see more of Janet and Sara and their relationship developing and getting healthier. I haven’t read the second book in the series yet, though, so keep that in mind if you write for this canon.

Enola Holmes - Art of Enola as an adult would be cool, or of her and Lady Cecily. I'd also like to see her and the Watsons developing a friendship separate from Holmes. Also, relationship story of her and Lady Cecily – how do they meet again? How do they fall in love? What does their relationship look like?

Whitehead Holmes - Honestly, it would be cool to see some casefic for this, whether it be serious casefic, with lots of very dramatic moments where I can imagine their eyelinered eyes being all moody, or silly casefic, like accidental baby acquisition (look, I love that episode, I always will, I'm a sucker for Holmes and Watson with a baby). The series was just too short, and I want more case based interactions that also involve marmalade. I dream of this series getting a good vid, and I always enjoy vids where the music is super pop-y or there is a bit of cognitive dissonance between the sounds and images, but it somehow WORKS.

Elementary - Okay, this is asterisked because I haven't seen... the final two seasons? I think? And I really can't read anything that takes place beyond the first season (because I'm still working on my novel-length fic in this adaptation, and I can't read fanfic in the same verse when I'm writing, because I'm silly like that), but: okay, hear me out. Elementary/Knives Out crossover. Just. Think about it. (Mostly because I can see Holmes' face when Benoit Blanc does his donut hole monologue.) This isn't really a SERIOUS request, I just needed it out there in the world... but if someone wrote it, I would NOT object. All that said, I also would enjoy a classic Elementary fic set in the first season; there is so much good material to work with!

Bert Coules Radio Plays – I love everything that Coules did with both the canon and his extracanonical stories. I’d love some episode tags that build on some of the added moments. Or art based around some of those moments in the series would also be cool – especially if the moments were from the New Adventures.

Special requests:

As always, I’m fairly well-versed in a variety of Holmesian pastiches, adaptations, and ‘verses, so if you need me to match with something I don’t have listed, feel free to reach out; I can be adaptable.

I asterisked Canon in my offers, because I’d really be mostly interested in writing the secondary characters, not Holmes or Watson. I wouldn’t be a good fit for someone wanting a story focused on Holmes or Watson.
