It's funny, I resisted seeing the Ritchie movies for quite some time because the trailers convinced me they had no respect for the source material. But when I actually watched them I was charmed by the elements they seemed to get right -- especially the Holmes-Watson friendship. They turned out to be a nice surprise for me, so it was fun trying my hand at writing this verse for the first time. I'm tickled that you liked Stamford, I have a soft spot for him, too! And yes, Watson was, as usual, a bit overhasty in setting Holmes's limits. He remains an insightful and compassionate man in any verse. Although his psychology of disguises...needs work.
