Wow, this was so powerfully written. You did an amazing job creating a voice for Holmes that was horrified and repentant and, through it all, still desperately loving toward Watson. Also, what a neat imagining of the way soulmate magic works in this 'verse, with the band and the time shared decided, but with neither party knowing which one of them will die on the appointed day. Fascinating! And so full of potential for drama, as you very deftly showed. This was really beautiful writing.
