holmesticemodsThank you to everyone who submitted your works this weekend! (And well-wishes to those of you who took extensions and are still finishing up your works!) While we're scurrying about getting ready to begin posting on Sunday, here is the promised video and slides from the presentation we gave at the Left Coast Sherlockian Symposium in October!
The video mostly doesn't show the slides; we've included a link to the slides so you can follow along. Or you can go through the slides without the video: the speaker notes for each slide contain our intended remarks about the slide. (Which in some cases is a little different than what we actually said -- we ran long on the first half of the presentation, so had to streamline our remarks for the actual Holmestice part.)
The audience for the presentation ran heavily toward "Scion" style fandom (where fans meet in-person and write mock academic articles about Holmes and company), and so we spent the first part of our presentation explaining a little about online fandom and gift exchanges for them. The part about Holmestice in particular begins around 20:40 / Slide 17.
