So, I'm apparently like the eighteenth person who admittedly has no familiarity with ASIE whatsoever, but I must say that after reading this, you've inspired me to pick it up! I only hope it's half as beautifully written and rich as this. I love what you've done here stylistically and even if it is set in a different 'verse, I had no difficulty recognizing Mycroft.
